Board Position Descriptions and Volunteer Positions for 2008-2009 NBLL
General Oversight
President
Responsibilities include oversight of entire league operation, establishing a financial budget and creating local rules and policies. Enforces Little League rules and policies and represents NBLL at District 8 meetings.
Vice-President (Baseball & Softball)
Assists President where-ever needed and oversees player review and draft process, as well as All Star selection process. Also oversees volunteer committees to ensure progress is being made.
Secretary
Responsibilities include securing board meeting locations, recording meeting minutes, and submitting them in electronic form to information officer for web posting after Board approval. Additional responsibilities include performing background checks for all league volunteers, including board members, managers, coaches and umpires.
Treasurer
Responsible for paying bills, making deposits to league bank, and generating monthly reports to Board on financial health of the league, including budget plan vs. actual. Additional responsibilities include providing financial information to league CPA for annual tax filings.
Registrar
Responsibilities include processing of all registration forms and maintaining a league database for all baseball and softball players. Works with Treasurer to ensure all payments and refund requests are recorded and received. Additional responsibilities include transmitting final league roster to Little League Data Center in April.
Player Agent (Baseball & Softball)
Responsible for formation of all teams using a player review and player draft process and assists parents with questions. During registration process, works with registrar to determine how many teams will be needed. Works with president and/or VP to ensure there is a manager for each team.
Scheduler (Baseball & Softball)
Responsible for scheduling all practices and games, including rainouts.
Umpire in Chief
Responsible for recruiting and assigning umpires to officiate games.
Hard Goods Manager
Responsible for purchasing and distributing all baseball and softball equipment for regular season teams, All Stars and Summerball.
Soft Goods Manager
Responsible for purchasing and distributing all baseball and softball uniforms for regular season teams, All Stars and Summerball.
Safety Officer
Responsible for writing annual safety plan using Little League approved format and forms and submitting them to District 8 Safety Officer. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and distributing safety kits to all baseball and softball team managers, as well as setting up a mandatory safety clinic prior to the start of practices and games.
Complex Coordinator
Responsibilities include representing NBLL at Northshore Little League Complex interleague meetings, as well as communicating information, issues and actions back to NBLL Board members in a timely manner.
Field Maintenance
Responsible for maintaining league equipment and containers at each of the schools, including bases, pegs, chalk, drags, tape measures, cones, spare umpire gear, rakes etc. Additional responsibilities include recruiting and coordinating volunteers to assist with school field day.
Information Officer
Responsibilities include maintaining league web site and all technology used by league for registration, scheduling, etc.
Events Coordinator
Responsible for obtaining and organizing volunteers to help with specific league committees and events (Picture Day, Mariner Day, All Star tournaments, etc).
Fundraiser Coordinator
Responsibilities include soliciting local businesses to advertise at Complex as well as getting existing sponsors to renew their advertising at the Complex. Also solicits for scholarship donations, team sponsorships (Jackets) and website advertising.
T-Ball / 78s Coordinator
Responsibilities include establishing a clear communication link between NBLL officers and T-Ball / 78s managers, coaches and parents. Other responsibilities include handling issues, concerns and problems that may arise throughout the season by working together with managers to resolve.
Baseball - Farm Coordinator
Responsibilities include establishing a clear communication link between NBLL officers and Farm managers, coaches and parents. Other responsibilities include handling issues, concerns and problems that may arise throughout the season by working together with managers to resolve.
Baseball - Minors Coordinator
Responsibilities include establishing a clear communication link between NBLL officers and Minors managers, coaches and parents. Other responsibilities include handling issues, concerns and problems that may arise throughout the season by working together with managers to resolve.
Baseball - Majors Coordinator
Responsibilities include establishing a clear communication link between NBLL officers and Majors managers, coaches and parents. Other responsibilities include handling issues, concerns and problems that may arise throughout the season by working together with managers to resolve.
Baseball - Jr / Sr Coordinator
Responsibilities include oversight of the entire Junior / Senior baseball program, including registration, player review and draft, manager selection, scheduling, inter-league coordination, All Stars, Web Content Etc.
Softball Coordinator
Responsible for formation of all softball teams either by assigning players to teams or conducting player drafts. Establishes skill criteria for non-draft levels and assists parents with questions. During registration process works with registrar to determine how many teams will be needed. Works with President of Softball to ensure there is a manager for each team.
